Best national parks :: USA
The National Park Service caters for a network of nearly 400
natural, cultural or recreational sites across the USA, managing and
protecting areas of national beauty and significance. The largest
National Park, at a staggering 3.3 million acres, is Death
Valley
National Park in California. Most National Parks offer
accommodation and campsites in or nearby and activities can be as
varied as your imagination allows! Some Parks are for the
purpose
of visiting a particular monument, such as the Statue of Liberty or
Mount Rushmore. Others are situated in stunning backcountry
with
ski touring or ski fields, lakes, mountains and rivers. Most
parks have hiking trails starting from easy, 1 hour strolls, to multi
day walks. Other popular park activities include fishing, swimming,
boating, rock climbing, mountain biking, horse back riding, nature
study, wildlife viewing, scenic drives, rafting and kayaking. Many
parks have ranger-assisted walks and nature trails and also children's
programmes and educational resources. VIsit the National
