Houston is the largest city in Texas, with other major cities being San Antonio, Dallas and Austin.  Galveston is the chief port city and is the gateway to the popular holiday destination of Galveston Island (the city and island are linked to the mainland via a causeway.)

	Fossil Rim WIldlife Center Fossil Rim participates in a worldwide network of wildlife conservation. and represents over 1000 animals. 	Texas State Aquarium The 'official' aquarium of Texas, located in Corpus Christi.  The aquarium is home to hundreds of marine mammels.  Interactive activities include Deckside Dolphin Encounter and Dolphin Trainer for a Day.  Other exhibits include the Flight Theater, Otter Creek, Eagle Pass, Amazon and Islands of Steel.  www.texasstateaquarium.org
	Inks Lake State Park, Burnet County Once used for cattle ranching, Inks Lake State Park offers over 1200 acres of recreational facilities along the Colorado River and next to Inks Lake.  Water sports include kayaking, swimming and fishing and there are plenty of great hikes as well as children's activity programs during summer.   www.inkslakestatepark.com
